The dialogue fields aim to strengthen the existing community around Klub Solitaer e. V. with inspiration and input from outside. We bring experts to Chemnitz to provide illuminating ideas for further projects in the neighbourhood and to expand existing visions. We rely less on explicit expertise and more on collective hunches and the creative flair that has already transformed some once-written-off places in the southern Sonnenberg neighbourhood. Over a period of four months, we are inviting six people from different fields of work to participate. In three sub-projects spread over this period of time, they will be exploring the southern Sonnenberg.
Chemnitz creatives from the fields of drawing, the blogger scene, photography, video and archaeology will each accompany a project duo over the entire period and document their shared experiences.
Our artistic goal is to stimulate an intensive exchange across genre boundaries. When selecting the residencies, we focus on artistic positions with high quality standards and experience in the field of art in public space. Because this creates an area of friction in everyday urban life. The special perception by a broad section of the population offers opportunities to make the urban space present in a specific way and to have an activating effect on urban discussions. Artistic interventions in public places thematise urban living space and mobilise users to think about urban development issues and social processes.
In an urban space that has predominantly had negative connotations to date, the dialogue fields aim to break through the existing visual and emotional barrier to the neighbourhood by offering an opportunity to stroll and pause for thought with selective interventions along Zietenstrasse.
